It took exactly seven days from the moment the strip was written to the official delivery.
Sassy was having a Henna tattoo applied to her forearm while Corbin and I kicked around the fringes of the vendor's tent. We talked mostly business that night, which is mostly trying to say funny things and just shrugging it off if you can't. One week later, we have one strip drawn and about seven more in mind. If I could draw any faster, we could have a twice-a-week comic. If you've seen Watchmen, then I needn't say another word. If you haven't, go see the movie, then read the strip. Not really. Go read the strip either way.. I bought a Wacom tablet on Tuesday, I think. Completely worth it. Dereck and Nick were over tonight and we hooked that puppy up, got on PSP and played a game not unlike Pictionary. You couldn't really win the game, or nobody kept score. Except me, and I won. Listen, the point /is/, the Wacom was a wise investment. It took a little getting used to, and I'm still getting used to it... but it's surprisingly fun. It makes drawing fun. Drawing always used to piss me off. Now it's like ctrl + z, no big deal. Also, you can do a lot more with PSP than you can the end of a pencil. Look at those clean lines on the comic strip. Oh, the comic strip! I'm going to have to get used to linking to interesting / funny / pertinent things in the post, like Tycho. Damn you, Tycho... Always two steps ahead. |

So basically this idea came from me being super psyched to see Watchmen, even though I didn't know a damn thing about it. We go see it on the day it comes out and afterward my brother-in-law won't quit saying DMD, or Dr. Manhattan Dong. I told Jericho about it and the strip just kind of unfolded from there.
I'm pretty psyched about the strip as well. I think we've let it sit long enough that it's coming to a boil and we'll be able to serve everyone the funniness as it simmers and cooks a little more. I think overall we're gonna have some good things coming. Stay tuned. |
